Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Vista had an population of 100,736 people. This is an increase of 7.36% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 12.11% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Vista had a population of 93,834 people. This makes Vista the county's 7th most populous community.

The population of Vista represents 0.25% of the population of California (which has 37,253,956 people), making it the state's 74th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 93,834 people, the population of Vista increased 4.43% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 89,857 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Vista was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Vista post office opened in 1882.

We also found Vista in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
