Welcome to Eilers ...

So far, we found very little information about Eilers. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Eilers to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Eilers - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Eilers, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Eilers , we believe that it would have been located within present day Shasta County<2>.

Eilers was established in 1895.

The origin (or the toponymy) of Eilers: Named after Lu Eilers.

Time Zone: The area where Eilers was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Eilers once stood is in the (530) area code.

Communities Also Named Eilers ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 2 communities that are also named Eilers - they are located in Colorado and Florida.

For more information, see our Tidbits & Trivia Page for Eilers.

Adding Eilers to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Eilers was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Eilers post office opened in 1895.

For more details, see References and Mentions for Eilers.

Footnotes ...

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Eilers, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>If you're interested in how the shape of California's counties, including Shasta, have changed over time, we recommend the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries.
