While we don't have a date for the founding of Taft, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1925.

The origin (or the toponymy) of Taft: Named after William Howard Taft (1857-1930), the 27th President of the United States.

Taft is 1,990 feet [607 m] above sea level.<1>.
