While we don't have a date for the founding of Oraibi, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1925.

Oraibi is 6,050 feet [1,844 m] above sea level.<2> In other words, the altitude of Oraibi is about 1¼ mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: Oraibi lies in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

Note: If you travel east from Oraibi, you will leave Mountain Standard Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT). In addition, you will be moving from an area that does not observe daylight saving time to one that does.

We originally found mention of Oraibi in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oraibi was on a map titled Map of Arizona (from Rand McNally, 1925).

We also found Oraibi on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1930.
