Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Pocahontas had an population of 6,724 people. This is an increase of 1.76% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 3.16% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Pocahontas had a population of 6,608 people (or 36.77% of the total population of Randolph County). This makes Pocahontas the county's most populous community.

The population of Pocahontas represents 0.23% of the total population of Arkansas (which has 2,915,918 people), making it the state's 52nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,608 people, the population of Pocahontas increased 1.38% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 6,518 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Pocahontas was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Pocahontas post office opened in 1836.
