From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gold Creek was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Gold Creek post office opened in 1879.

We also found Gold Creek on a map titled William Bradley Map (1889).
