Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Aniak had an population of 552 people. This is an increase of 10.18% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 3.5% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Aniak had a population of 501 people.

The population of Aniak represents 0.07% of the population of Alaska (which has 710,231 people), making it the state's 56th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 501 people, the population of Aniak decreased 12.41% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 572 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Aniak was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Aniak post office opened in 1914.
